The Skech Glow case was released late last year by Skech and is made for the iPhone 5/5s. This isn’t the first case we’ve seen that uses a combination of materials and in this case it’s rubber and plastic. Don’t be fooled by the name though, the case doesn’t actually glow, unfortunately…
The case uses a hard plastic shell with the edges trimmed in a softer rubber. The protection offered by the case is impressive and includes one of our favourite features of an iPhone case – button coverage. Something we noticed which was quite weird was the bottom of the case. Instead of leaving it open or making the 3 standard cut-outs for the speakers and charging port, they’ve made 3 rather weird sections. It’s worth noting the case is compatible with the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter as well which is something that many cases don’t support.
The volume buttons and power button are covered in the rubber material and are aligned perfectly. Far too often do we use cases which implement this but the buttons are incredibly difficult to press or use, but Skech have implemented it perfectly on the Glow. The mute switch doesn’t have the same treatment and has been left uncovered so it’s easier to use.
We’ve actually started using our Glow permanently now due to simple yet nice design as well as the protection it offers. The plastic and rubber combinations that are offered by Skech are designed so that the rubber trims and plastic body contrast each other. Not only does this look great but it also feels great in the hand and adds little bulk to your device.
The case can be picked up for £19.99 from Amazon.co.uk, but if you want to know more about the Glow case you can visit their website below.Skechit.com
